Suzuki Katana (popup)

Post by popkat »

I'm selling my classic Katana, it's a 1986 GSX750SE Katana, one of only about 25 to be officially imported in to the uk, vary rare, most won't be interested on here but someone might or may know someone who would be.

It's condition overall is excellent, the chassis is tip top, the genuine exhaust system is like new, the bodywork is all original and does have marks to the finish, the side panels have crack (they all do it), it gets admirers wherever it goes, it is one of the best in the country.
It's standard apart from front brake hoses, rear shock and rear indicators. last time I rode it I noticed a slight judder under hard braking, this could be the discs or head bearings, I will get a look to find out, if it's discs I have some spares, then I can put a fresh mot on it if wanted. it has approx. 94000 km on the clock, this is about 59000 miles it's genuine and the bike is 28 years old (just over 2000 miles a year) all these models had km clocks as it wasn't economical to change mph for such a small batch.

Suzuki imported between 75 and 100 hundred bikes as a one off shipment most were Japanese spec bikes with a bit less power and a few other differences, this one is a Australian full power model officially imported by Heron Suzuki in 1986.

There were some grey imports in the 90's no-one knows how many.

A grey import sold in the last couple of months for £2300 it was in similar condition but didn't have original pipes, a full power uk bike the same sold in the last 2 months for £1750, this one hadn't run for a few years and needed to be recommissioned and putting back together as well as some restoration.

I'm open to offers but bear in mind the prices of the bikes mentioned above, this one is better and an official uk bike.

I can email more pictures to anyone seriously interested.

I'd love to say yes but I'm very busy in June, and thus I will be eating pot noodles for all of July
