Re: Help needed
you've got a short in the wiring somewhere, trace the brake light wire back to where it enters the loom and look for chaffing of the wires.

Re: Help needed
Remove the tail light bulbs and try again and it that fixes it Change the rear light bulbs
Re: Help needed
Which light is lighting up on the dash. This may help determine where the short is.
Nice colourful wiring diagram in the following link

Re: Help needed
I've had that happen to me before on a car, it had me fooled for hours trying to find it. The tail light bulb filament had broken and droped down onto the brake light filament, this caused a direct feed to the sidelight circuit when the brake was applied.
As Lloydie says worth checking out the tail/stop light bulbs first, as it easy to do,
Chris.

It's the rev counter and the small light on the fairingcybercarl wrote:Which light is lighting up on the dash. This may help determine where the short is.

Re: Help needed
There's no light on the fairing unless you have an alarm LED or something. I would take a guess at that being the root of the cause. Has someone stupidly taken power for it from the brake light switch.small light on the fairing

Re: Help needed
Oh yeh I suppose he could be referring to that. I'm visualising the OP seeing a light coming up on the fairing while riding down the road every time the brake is applied. There's small and there's small
OK after looking at the wiring diagram the only thing that shares the front brake light with the sidelight, if that is what your referring to, is the horn switch. So there is a clue. Switchgear.
