It may be that your whole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.
make sure your power coater knows what he's doing, a mate of mine just had his wheels done, first time they came back coated over the disc mounts so had to be redone, also noticed they'd blasted the bearing surface. He bought them to me today to refit the tyres and fit new bearing, the rear bearings pushed in by hand, so although the powder coating company said it wouldn't be a problem it was, the bearings span by hand with a bit of lube, he had to go and buy some bearing fit/lock which has held them in firm, I wouldn't like to change bearings in that wheel again. Really this company should be buying him new wheels.

Where abouts in Hampshire are you .
Reason for asking is I had mine powder coated along with a few other bits and from personal experience the company I used were excellent in quality but taped everything up that didn't want covering in powder and 30 quid a wheel is pretty good
Im going to be using K&n finnishers http://www.kandnalloywheels.co.uk/ they collect and deliver and as i don't have a car thats a big bonus i will have to get a local bike shop to take of the wheels take the forks apart as it is. I wish Portsmouth had some actual garages! lol i would rent one if there was one less than 20 miles from me >.<
I had a wheel powder coated and it accidentally got dropped and the coating crazed.
Now I get them painted and my sprayer uses a plasticiser in the paint so it's more resistant to stone chips etc
I have been put off with poor powder coaters recently and pay extra for a paint finish now
I think you will find a good quality paint job is a lot more harder wearing than powdercoating anyway. Look at the quality of paint jobs from the manufactures on the wheels of new cars and bikes. Much better. It all depends on the paint and how it's applied. Standard cellulose based paints are not enough. It needs to be epoxy resin based.
those forks turned out really nice, I did my own, but I don't know how long the finish will last....
I wish I could find a quality powder coaters in east London, and as cheap as yours.
here's my homemade attempt at painting forks....
