Possible carb fault? High K bike.

been trying to help a guy over here with a VTR with a fault. Carbs have been cleaned. Im starting to suspect worn needle jet. It bogs in the mid when hot.

Has anybody heard of this on a bike with 60,000 miles on it? I know these are hard to find if at all.

That was right around the mileage I replaced my carb bodies due to wear.

Another bit to check is the enrichment cables and needles (The choke system) They can get hung up sometimes if the routing gets out of place when installing the carbs.

The slide slots usually are fine as the slides tend to wear not the carb bodies, unless the sub filters get left out.
I have seen the slots full of dust and grit because of this and then the carb bodies take a beating

Sorry for the bad lead...... I guess I had a lucky day when I went in and had an old guy at the counter get a set for me.
I will say it was a bit of a pain to get the old ones out and press in the new ones.

I would hunt down a set of low mileage bodies if I had to do it again......and is what I did when it was time for me to service my carbs

you can get Factory Pro HDJs for replacement needle jets....... I went that route but have to wait until spring to see how they work.....

I had a simular thing happen to mine but it wasn't the needles, it was the emulsion tubes. The Dyno jet needles had rubbed them oval over time.
Give everything a good inspection and look for excessive wear. A set of replacement carbs might be an easy answer but it's always best to check first
