Wilbers Shock - remote reservoir question

Post by Mav617 »

Hi all,

my shock finally arrived after Parcelforce delivered it to the wrong address 10 days ago.....so, the remote reservoir is connected by a short length of braided hose, with a banjo bolt where the reservoir connects. Can I loosen this slightly to reposition it, or will doing so mean it needs re-gassing after?

Don't loosen it, it's under pressure..
This is one area where I really like the Nitron shocks, their banjo's swivel so you can position the reservoir easily without twisting the hose. I have a Penske for my VTR but had the hose made to my length. I have a Nitron for my VFR and must get round to fitting it before long.

Bugger! Ok, thanks Malc - if it really needs adjusting should I take it somewhere they can refit a longer hose and then re-gas?

That's you best bet mate. You could even get a longer hose then if needed. A gas refill I would guess is on the cards with a used shock anyway, so no bad thing. Kill two birds with one stone and all that.
