Pulse generator rotor gone bad?
Has anyone ever has to replace the rotor for the pulse generator? I have NO spark to my front cylinder. I have checked EVERYTHING including replacing the CDi box and the ECM and still the SAME thing. I have checked the wire from the CDi box to the plug ( I did the COP mod) for continuity and I am good there. The ground is good as well. I have been talking to a guy, and he thinks its the rotor for the pulse generator. When I turn the bike over, I will get spark only once in a while, but I will get GOOD spark on the rear cylinder.

Yes, they do go bad from time to time
Loud pipes don't save lives, knowing how to ride your bike will save your life.

Do a resistance and voltage test as in the following.

But I can't see how a dodgy stator/rotor will affect one plug. All it would do is stop the battery charging fully as the full amount wont be pumped back into the R/R so if anything you would have a weak spark on both cylinders. Have you changed the plugs as it could be the plug itself. Start there and work your way backwards. Swap the COP around and see if the problem reverses to eliminate a dodgy COP or wiring.

I think the OP is meaning the ignition pick up pulse coil etc Carl,

The pulse generator.... 2 yellow/yellow white wires in a single 2 pin connector.
its fkd.
its fkd.

Your right...silly me. I was half asleep.I think the OP is meaning the ignition pick up pulse coil etc Carl

Any joy yet with this problem I wonder

is this the same fault that poor old

That's what I was just thinking. Had a bit of a Deja Vu moment there.is this the same fault that poor old

And interestingly both times it's the rear that is out.

I've not heard of the rotor/advancer/retarder itself wearing out causing issues, but it is mechanical and everything has it's limits I suppose. It's only a cog though so what's to wear considering no chain goes around the teeth. Unless over time they begin to get some wear and movement where it bolts onto the spline.
