Suspension spacer

When I stripped all the rear suspension a 6mm u shaped aluminium spacer dropped out from the top of the shock.

I have read about this being a mod - but could this be the reason the header pipes were actually touching the suspension link?

I will do a full post showing the carnage in doe of those links - truly shocking!!!!! (Pardon the pun !!!!)

Even with a 6mm spacer nothing should hit.

I'm also fitting replacement headers when it all goes back together as the originals had been welded by a gorilla!!!!
