Royal Baby...

Post by MacV2 »

"The new Royal baby weighs 3.7kg"

"What's that in pounds?"

"About £3 million per year for the taxpayer"

If only...

The Queen and I is the brilliantly funny novel by Sue Townsend, author of the Adrian Mole series.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Queen_and_I_(novel)

THE MONARCHY HAS BEEN DISMANTLED

When a Republican party wins the General Election, their first act in power is to strip the royal family of their assets and titles and send them to live on a housing estate in the Midlands.

Exchanging Buckingham Palace for a two-bedroomed semi in Hell Close (as the locals dub it), caviar for boiled eggs, servants for a social worker named Trish, the Queen and her family learn what it means to be poor among the great unwashed. But is their breeding sufficient to allow them to rise above their changed circumstance or deep down are they really just like everyone else?

Don't mean to be a stick in the mud but I thought prince William and Harry inherited equal amounts from Diana think she was worth something like 400 million so they actually don't take the tax payers money imo

Plus were all British I thought that was part of the old tradition we seem to of lost our way with British values these days.

Not that I am pro royals of anything

Civil List was renamed The Sovereign Grant Act 2011 and Charlie and the boys have their own income from his Duchy of Cornwall, and their inheritance from Diana. Though not sure who pays for all their palaces and staff etc. and 'Royal Duty' jollies.
