tyre code's question

Post by agentpineapple »

looking at some metzeler M7RR tyres and there's two types the first is.
120/70Z R17 58 W Front TL M/C
and the other is
120/70X R17 58 W Front TL M/C M
It's only the letter M that's the difference, does anyone know what this means?
HEY YOU GUYS!!!!!!

not sure if that helps, but according to their 2015 technical databook, there is no special version of M7

The TL M/C M's etc after the tire size IIRC are tyre codes for the qualities of the tyre ie features like the type of ply/features. The lettering will vary from manufacturer to manufacturer. Note the lettering is different from front to rear, well this could simply meant that the rear has an extra hard compound (M) material in the centre whereas the front does not.
