Non liquid Carb sync tool, What is your favorite?

Post by E.Marquez »

I've used a bunch over the years,, Homemade, mercury filled, non mercury filled, analog vac gauge based..

What do you have now that you find easy, accurate, low setup, and quick to use.

Price is not an object so much as meeting the needs above.

Thanks

0-400 mbar suction gauge. Free with work and works a treat.
missing the noise, not the vibes. However never say never!

Carbtune. Brilliant. Does what it says on the box but does it perfectly. I got one of the RH screwdrivers from them as well. Also brilliant.

Ive used it on many bikes and it just works.

I have tried them all over the years, in the end my old man made this for me.

It's a single gauge with four inlets & valves, no need to calibrate & tough as old boots

Another vote for Carbtune. Have a 2 stick and 4 stick for the CBX. Great people to deal with too.

+1 though I did not get on so well with the screwdriver and ended up getting a motion pro, and it's still awkward to get to the rear carb  though better

I have always had fantastic customer service from these people and can't recommend them highly enough. While ordering from them it's a good idea to get a couple of brass adapters and vacuum hose end caps too.

I simply pull the end caps off and attach the hoses to my Carbtune (with restriction pipe in to smooth the reading) and attach to the bras adapters. FYI I found the best way to put the threaded end of the adapter into the hose is to dip the hose in boiling water and work it over threaded end and over the shroud of the adapter. They fit very snugly then.

You will need an adapter and some nitrile vacuum hose and a plastic T piece. Attach hose to the front cylinder and cap off then put the T piece on the rear vacuum which happens to the same feed to the petcock and run a hose from this and cap off. Simples......all ready to go and attach a vacuum meter.

More info here.
