Anyhow, as I am trying to learn how everything works, not to mention I want to reduce the number of times I have to pull the carbs apart next spring as I venture to get the jetting spot-on, I sent an e-mail to Marc at FP asking him about the following:
- all else being equal, does the switch to the HDJ needle jet require richer or leaner settings, and by how much (clip positions and MJ sizes)?
- as I am running a set of identical length HPower (long) stacks on my bike (instead of the staggered OEM stacks), will the new MAJ set-up work for me or will additional changes be needed? Also asked him to explain why the stagger on the hole sizes.
Hoping to get an answer.....
replies (finally) received:
"1. - "all things being equal"
Should be about the same jet sizes - It's supposed to deliver the same fuel, just in a better state.
2. - "stacks"
Should work the same as before - I've done testing w long and short stacks and the MAJ remained the same."
In case anyone is thinking of trying this out themselves......
