It'll probably fit but it is the shorter/shallower sized filter.

Re: another oil filter question
Honda is actually pretty easy.
For the most part, they have 2 oil filters. A long one and a short one both with the same threads.
This carrys over to all their engines, car, bike. power equipment, it doesn't really matter.
So if it is a Honda filter it should spin on with no worries.

The main factor in choosing which one is how much room you have.
If you have a stock chin fairing the long one will hit so you need to trim the fairing a bit.
Other than that, you can run either one with no issues.

I've been running the long filter on my bike (as I don't run the chin fairing) for 14yrs now

Re: another oil filter question
The HF303 is the longer filter at 73mm, the 204 is 64mm, the early model had the longer filter there should be no clearance problems to the chin fairing.. Hiflo filters are the same dimensions as the Original Honda filter, which may well be a hiflo anyway.8541Hawk wrote:And it show what I was talking about....Honda has 2 filters, long and short.popkat wrote:Hiflo list

Re: another oil filter question
This is not going to help, but here goes anyway
My bike is a 1999 model, when I got the bike in 2001 it was fitted with oil filter 15410-MM9-P03 and I replaced it with the same when I changed it. I asked for a Firestorm filter and 15410-MM9-P03 was what I was given, which matched my original.
Some oil changes later my local dealer said, Honda had replaced that filter for the Firestorm. So I have been fitting oil filter 15410-MJC-505 (which is the shorter one as Wicky points out) ever since.
So as I understand it the longer oil filter was the original fitment for my year bike 1999 (as Popkat suggest). I've not had any clearance issues with the chin fairing like you had Mike (Hawk),
Chris.

Re: another oil filter question
Actually I was thinking about the even longer aftermarket filter that I run, sorry getting old.....lol
Either of the "Honda" filters will fit with no issues like you guys have stated.
