Cuts out when warm

Post by Ade81 »

Hi all,

Got a problem with the storm that only seems to happen after about half an hour of riding when fully warmed up. It's ok up until that point and then decides to start running badly, stalling and dying and generally leaving me stranded until it's cooled down enough to splutter home. It ticks over ok but as soon as I try and go anywhere it has none of it. Start it again the next day for the ten minute ride to work - no bother.

I was thinking maybe the coils starting to fail?? Has anyone had this problem?

Next time it happens open the fuel filler and listen for inrushing air.
Sounds more like a partial fuel feed blockage or airlock.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

Bypassed the kickstand switch today and went for a spin, bike ran spot on. No cutting out or spluttering, so thought I'd try plugging it back in to see if it came back. It didn't. I'd done a good twenty miles or so with no issues at all.

It must have not been plugged in properly or a bad connection, either way the problem seems to be gone

Thanks for the help guys

It may be that your whole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.
