Side Stand Switch

Was out today and the bike stalled as it was still a little cold but it would not start unless I placed it into neutral. Deployed the side stand and retracted it and it seems the issue has gone away as it will start with the clutch pulled in in any gear.

Could someone link me were I can find a new side stand switch I have looked on David Silver and Weemoto and cannot find any

Hell they are expensive. Have found used ones on the bay between £15 - £20 but they have all come from 96-99 models. Are these switches compatible with the F2 models???

Should do - check if there's a difference in part no.s between early and late models using the Honda parts websites I linked you to earlier.

Early No: 35700-MBB-305
Later No: 35700-MBB-306

It changes from 305-306 in 2001 the actual bar side stand is the same code therefore the housing the switch sits in is the same. In theory the older ones should not fit as the bracket behind is also a different code.

I have had the same problem on my 1998 storm.I cleaned all the gunk that gets thrown up by the chain with white spirit and a stiff brush,and have had no more problems but it won't start in gear with the clutch pulled in,it has to be flicked into neutral.

Later No: 35700-MBB-306

The repair looks like a happy evening in on a cold winters night. As for the shorting link one should be in ones toolkit as standard.
