Output Shaft Bent?

Be careful Mav, a friend of mine stripped the thread on his Trx output shaft.

He was so upset he sold the bike

I don't know, but check it's not a left handed thread. The manual should highlight it if it is

Failing that tw@t it with a copper hammer in case some one has used thread lock (not too hard btw).

Also try heating the bolt with an electric heat gun, don't use an oxyacetylene flame for Gods sake

It won't be left hand thread, it'll come off with a decent wizzy gun, a good battery one has more than enough torque to get it off.

Yeh rattle gun is the way to go. Don't f about. I bought a cheap one for doing the flywheel thinking it would not get much use. It's suprising how often it gets used from silly things like axle nut to suspension linkages. Yeh I know you havent a VTR but you get the idea. Might be a worthy investment for moments like this.

All sorted, thanks fellas. I had to put the old chain back on, wire the links where I'd broken it to get it off. The sprocket fit the old chain well (they use a 525 as standard, the one on it was a 530?) so a bar through the rear wheel locked it up and then I used a breaker bar and it came off pretty easily in the end. New chain fits new sprocket like a glove - and it tracks straight when in gear (no hitting the chain guard) so job done and it's now ready for a blast.
