Can I ask what the reasoning is behind not allowing new users to be able to post in the for sale section.

11. Due to abuse of the Sales and Wants section by some previous new members, it is now mandatory that you have 50 posts before you are allowed to post in that section of the forum.

Can I ask what the reasoning is behind not allowing new users to be able to post in the for sale section.

A lot of new folk signed up specifically to just sell their stuff, or ask for bits - knowing they would get them cheaper being a "member of the VTR Owners forum". Once they got their bits, etc, they buggered off. So, the rule I think was put there to stop new folk arriving and abusing the system (and taking advantage of the other members).

I think it's a fair rule, and although 50 posts seems a lot to someone new, they soon add up if the person starts talking n' getting involved with other VTR folk - after-all, that's what the forum was set up for!

Hopefully, if someone sticks out the 50 post rule, they will then be deeply involved, committed and "certified insane" within the forum/asylum. It's hoped they will stay a bit longer than the 51st post!
