Hi
At the moment I have a standard brake setup with braided hoses, they're sh1t compared to my 87 Vfr.
Admittedly it's got Brembo calipers fitted.
Is there a way to improve the standard set up without the expense of Brembos?

Re: Improving brakes
Yes , strip clean and service them and fit EBC HH pads .
Or spend some money on cbr600f41 calipers and master cylinder

Re: Improving brakes
Are they a straight swap?
I changed the fluids on Friday, its better but....typical Honda of the period.
I suppose a service won't go amiss.

Close but not quite, you have to grind a bit off the caliper and off the fork lower.artee wrote:Are they a straight swap?

Mine has good standard calipers, HH pads and still on standard hoses, at the moment I'd say they're good enough with plenty of power, if I compared them to modern stuff I guess I'd find them wanting.. Compared to my VFR they're excellent but then the VFR has standard 1986 calipers, wooden is the key word

Thanks.
I had just read that post before coming back here.
Very informative.
There are ready made caliper adapters available from Japan that enable Brembo fitment.
I have these fitted to my Vfr

Re: Improving brakes
You've caught me out..
They're cbr600 f3 forks with an f2 wheel.
The m/cylinder is from an f2.
But they work well, there's a lot of lever travel but it's not needed as I can do one finger stoppies.
I may go down this route with the Vtr, but use the 65mm pitch calipers instead.
