suspension linkage torques

Post by bazzashadow »

just doing my rear suspension and it lists in the Haynes manual like this

shock absorber mounting bolt nuts
vtr models ............................... 44nm
xl models
upper....................................59nm
lower.....................................44nm
suspension linkage bolt nuts
vtr models................................44nm
xl models
linkage arm to linkage plate............44nm
linkage arm to bracket...................59nm
linkage plate to swingarm...............88nm

my question is?
am I right in thinking that all the nuts and bolts on a vtr are 44nm and if so why is the xl so different in torque settings, like the linkage plate to swingarm at 88nm double that of a vtr?

Yes 33ft/lb for all the nuts/bolts. not easy to torque the top shock where it bolts to the clevis, hard to get a socket in, just go by similar feel to the others.
