maybe a daft question but.....
maybe a daft question but.....
Is there any difference between a normal chain and sprocket set and a shiny gold chain and sprocket set other than the colour?
Sounds like thunder, goes like lightning!!
Re: maybe a daft question but.....
Depends on the seals in each link...
Cheap ones dont have seals...
O- ring chains are a bit pricer...
x-ring chains are the new must have, are claimed to hold the lube better in the links & cost a bit more again.
You can get chains in a lot of different colours these days.
Get a decent X-ring chain & sprocket kit...Fit it & look after it with regular checks & lots of lube...Go the whole hog & fit a Scotoiler.

I think a scottoiler is the next addition.
Going to order new chain and sprockets tomorrow and after reading threads on here I'm probably going to go for the jt set.
Are you still ok to oversee the fitting mac?

Re: maybe a daft question but.....
Scotoiler doubles the life of the chain, it's as simple as that.
It means you have to adjust it less often, and a well-lubed chain saps less power, makes gearchanges quicker and minimises missed gears.
Deffo a recommend from me.

It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.
