Re: halfords tools
The Halfords Advanced range of tools are pretty decent and good value for money, however there is some small print in the ‘lifetime warranty’you should aware of, namely it doesn’t cover moving parts, so ratchet mechanisms etc aren’t covered. I found this out when I broke the ratcheting end of my 10mm combi spanner, on returning it for replacement I was told it wasn’t covered. After a bit of moaning and complaining about the warranty been misleading (although to be fair their website does state moving parts aren’t covered) the manager relented and replaced the offending spanner as a gesture of good will. He didn’t have to do this and other managers may not be so accommodating, but at the price you can’t really expect a Snap-on style lifetime warranty, all in all good gear and better than most aimed at the enthusiastic DIY’er rather than a pro mechanic.
