Arai SV anyone? Advice needed

Fellow twinners Let me ask you - anybody have/has/tried Arai SV helmet? Time has come for my trusty OGK to stay home - or my face shrunk or my helmet loosened too much
I can get myself Arai SV also known as Arai Route GT in Europe.
It is entry-level Arai, so costs not too much and I found shop on eBay where they sell them at 250 Euros. But - I am looking for combination of comfort and little less noise that my old OGK Aeroblade produce. Any advice on that Arai will be highly appreciated - specially if your experience with it was bad - means it'll save me money!

I've tried heaps of helmets (& for some reason, own six ) and I think, providing they meet the usual standards, you've just got to try the different ones & see which is most comfortable. They're all slightly different qualities, but really, when it comes down to it, crash-wise, there's not that much difference IMO.

My advice would be to get to a shop with a decent variety & try on as many different brands as you can.

I tried an ARAI cos i thought it was the best..........bit of a let down though, noisey, poor fit to my head and visors cost a lot.
Now got BMW helmet, less than half the price and a good fit, air vent noisey when open though.
Had Shoei before and for me think they fit my head shape the best.
Try it on and walk around the shop with it on for a while.

That's the problem - I just came from shop where they have Arai helmets in my size but at ridicolous price, so I just went there to try it on and then buy from Inet....if...

Result is annoyingly predictable...that b8stard fits me miles better than any other lid and it is sooo light....sh...t, it looks like I really liked it.

BMW helmets do not fit me at all, I really tried hard bcause I can get that "light" Schuberth (BMW) helmet at just 99 Euros, but whatever I tried - can't wear them. So - if BMW lid fits it is guaranteed Arai will never be right for you...
OGK been brilliant for 4-5 years, but it was meant for naked bike (Hornet) and it works really bad on Storm. Hmm....choices, choices...

bluesman, anything will be quieter than an OGK. theyre good helmets but bleedin noisey coz of the funky venting and stuff, i know i had one for a couple of years.
if your head is anything like mine (preferably human ) have you tried caberg theyre light and comfy, and some of them look pretty good too.

Try before you but, fit is the most important thing.
If you have an Arai head you'll be fine.
I have had an Arai SV for the last 2 years as my helmet I use when instructing. It's been great, just as comfortable at my Quantum F Walker rep was..
When instructing/teaching I can be wearing a helmet for 6 hours in a day so comfort is very important. In my oppinion if you have an "Arai head" you won't go far wrong.

I got me a jr rep Arai Astro R recently after always using Shoeis and i love it , it fits my head much better and the vent system is much better.
And i have a recent issue of bike where they sound test about 15 helmets and the astro r and rxx7 came 4th and 5th beating the shoies and only getting beaten by a couple of them ugly shubert jobbies.

I have an SV I like it alot its not that nosiey but ROOF are real quite lids so you could give one of those a try.

I think I will buy another Arai SV in the next few months but in black the silver one I have matches my storm though

Thanks everybody! Now I am kinda sure that I am going for actually right compromise. I am going for SV then.

Basically, I just won new Arai SV on eBay...and even paid. Now I hope that this big eBay German shop will not let me down. Got it at 146 GBP/211 Euro. Now - fingers crossed for helmet to arrive in order...

Just got my Arai SV delivered....it is a beauty - so light, so well made and so good looking helmet...love it. Fit is great, the only thing I was surprised to find is so many technical gadgets in budget Arai - all those vents buttons etc. etc.

Absolute bargain at 211 Euros. I felt so guilty about spending money on my bike (thou wife said she loves that helmet) that I went and signed up contract for extensive work needed to fix up our basement which leaks a lot lately....4900 Euro! That's not bargain for sure...all I saved
Arai was last thing I bought for bike for next few years...
