I am just Checking In
I am just Checking In
I miss this forum but I just haven't had the time to post anything or even ride for that matter. I did start my Superhawk and let it warm up yesterday. My dad got sick and since he is 89 it is serious. First he was in the hospital and now he is in a nursing care facility. He is tired, weak, can't walk and the outlook is going to be grim sooner or later. I have been making trips to Sherman (about 80 miles round trip) pretty much every day. I also have to find time to work. He is lonely. He is a great guy and the staff says he is an easy keeper but he doesn't really understand why he has to be there. I'll get back to riding and projects but I am not sure when.
I'll be around when I can.

Sorry to hear about your father Jim.
Our thoughts and support is with you. Quite a few of us have all been through or have this on the horizon. It's not nice but we have to get through it as best we can. Stay strong Buddy
If you need a little light relief we'll be here to support you, take the pi$$, ridicule or hand out a virtual hug

See him when you can Big jim, I hope he improves if he can. You keep healthy so you can see him.
missing the noise, not the vibes. However never say never!
Re: I am just Checking In
Like they said.
Stay positive, make the most of your time together and most of all look after your self... You are no use to anybody if you run your self into the ground (physically or emotionally).
We are here if you need someone to shout at or let off steam, and also if you need some light relief. Good luck

It's good to hear from you Jim, although I'm sorry to hear it's not under better circumstances.
I'm in a similar situation as you regarding elderly parents. It's hard to see them deteriorating as they get older with all their different health issues. I have to keep reminding myself this is the way the system is even though I don't like it, and most of us will come to this if we live long enough. I doubt there are many who reach a really brilliant old age, then pop-off without ever having any ailments at all.
There are some very good words of wisdom already been posted here, so I will just underline the bit about taking care of yourself, and the bit about remembering we are here if you need to off-load, or even take your mind away from reality for a few minutes,
Chris.
