Haven't quite done it today but some plonker has used shiny blue anodized aluminium cap screws to fix the front mudguard (as well as the fairing). Of course, instead of undoing they just sheared off. The stubs have had an overnight soak in WD40 and I'll try easyouts but I suspect it's a drill out and retap job. Not nice with similar metals effectively welded together. We'll see.

started it up and run it up to temp for the first time in a month, took at least tens goes to start it it and keep it idling, the battery did a manful job. got to love the motobatt batteries....
still can't ride it tho as it hasn't got any front brakes.....
i'll get them sorted next month....

Did much the same with the SP2 today, moved it up the garden back into the garage and left it idling/blipping to get the temp up to fan cut-in.

I'll be swapping over the Lithium battery that's currently in the Storm to see how it gets on with starting the 2, but I don't anticipate any problems.

And fitted a set of CCT's for a forum owner.
Another bit more paid back to the housekeeping/burying the m-in-l fund, which graciously donated the SP2 money.......

I bought the 2 to stop me having to spend all day every weekend in the garage playing with the Storm but since buying it I've spent every spare day in the garage stripping and listing Storm bits for sale.....Hmmmm

Put new fuel pipes on after discovering this after almost more than 'warming' the bike up...

Gonna pop down to hosequip to see if they've any prebent fuel hose with a 90º bend to avoid it kinking and splitting again.

Ta muchly Mac for the offer - Hosequip could only suggest stainless braided hose but it required too tight a bend - so found a new Honda hose on ebay for only £15 all in instead of £25+pp from DS.

The cracked and split hose was commonly available 'straight' reinforced fuel hose and the guy in the shop was surprised how dry it was, most probably due to the heat under the tank from engine. As even the straighter pathed hose was cracked and on the way to failing.
