Blimey what happened theremellis wrote:Ah ok, no queuing system here thenI thought "very interested" might be an obvious statement of intent but clearly not.
No point crying now Chris, but I can't deny I am a bit miffed. Nothing worth losing sleep over but still a bit of a surprise. No hard feelings though, it's business!sirch345 wrote:Blimey what happened theremellis wrote:Ah ok, no queuing system here thenI thought "very interested" might be an obvious statement of intent but clearly not.
I thought you were at the front of the queue as well,
Chris.
I appreciate you posting about this CMB.carmanbikes wrote:Feel really bad about this, I had mellis who asked a question and said he was very interested but didn't say give me first refusal and then I have a PM saying I will have them from another member, So the PM was the first to say I WANT them. I had a similar thing happen to me when someone was breaking a full bike I asked for first refusal on the rear shock in the post, Then some time later the member breaking the bike got back to me saying he had received a PM before my request on the post for the shock so I lost outsirch345 wrote:I appreciate you posting about this CMB.carmanbikes wrote:Feel really bad about this, I had mellis who asked a question and said he was very interested but didn't say give me first refusal and then I have a PM saying I will have them from another member, So the PM was the first to say I WANT them. I must admit I personally felt Mark (Mellis) had been let down here.
However after thinking about this a little more, I have to point out our forum "Guidelines" which are provided for all to see at the head of the "Sales and Wants" section. I know probably many of you have ignored them, but they are thereThey actually suggest sending a PM to the seller as well as posting in the for sale thread of said item. Of course guidelines are just that, guidelines, it will be down to the individual how these are interpreted, but hopefully that has made things a little clearer for the future for those who haven't read them yet.
All I can really say is, I'm sorry Mark you lost out this time, but in the future, for anyone thinking about purchasing an item, include "Please give me first refusal" or similar on said item in the topic thread and follow that up with a PM to the seller,
Chris.
i would always ask for a "fist refusal" but thats just mecarmanbikes wrote:I had a similar thing happen to me when someone was breaking a full bike I asked for fist refusal on the rear shock in the post, Then some time later the member breaking the bike got back to me saying he had received a PM before my request on the post for the shock so I lost outsirch345 wrote:I appreciate you posting about this CMB.carmanbikes wrote:Feel really bad about this, I had mellis who asked a question and said he was very interested but didn't say give me first refusal and then I have a PM saying I will have them from another member, So the PM was the first to say I WANT them. Chris., In this case if Mark had said give me first refusal or first dibs then that would have happened, I can only apologise again to Mellis as I have already done so via a PM

True on the price Mark. I guess we live and learn, mellis wrote:Of course I've read them Chris..........![]()
Not a worry at all, but that is a great price for £350 of discs, hence my annoyance at not getting my greasy mits on them. Lesson learned!
Then I sent a PMkev64 wrote:Hi mate , ill have these if Mellis don't want them !!
