Help please-Immobiliser

Guys

I need to remove the Subframe so it can be painted. However there is an immobiliser in the bike.




I opened it up thinking I could just remove the wiring from the box and slide it through the subframe and then remove.

However it's not as simple as that. I don't need it. If I cut it up..Will it adversely affect my bike?

Good decision to remove it - they are a PIA when they kick in at an inopportune time

Search online for make & model of the immobiliser to see if there's a best way hack it out. Though as its a security device it might be tricky to find an online how-to.

The best line I found skimming a few threads "Just leave it parked on the street. Some wee scrote will steal the bike, bypass the immobaliser for you then dump it somewhere a few days later. "

Er... unplug it at the other end... Don't just cut the wires...spesh the green one...or is it the yellow one...or black...

Also is there any way to remove the subframe without interfering with the main wiring look?

You'll need to unpug rear black boxes and R/R etc. before unthreading the rear loom to remove the subframe. Take pictures beforehand as reference for when you later rebuild.

The immobiliser was in it when I got it. Have to take it off somehow. Can't imagine it turning out well trying to paint subframe on bike

the important wires to make the bike run will be in a loop, label all wires with 2 labels on each ie 1 and 1, 2 and 2... cut the wires between the labels then touch them to another wire eg 1 to 2.. have some spare fuses to hand, you'll find out which ones will make the bike work, I've done a few they can take a few minutes to figure out or sometimes hours and hours. once you know which wires go where you can shorten them and tidy up.


Can't think of a better way to describe it, hope it makes sense.

After a lot of anger and advice which is very much appreciated I took this option for the immobiliser




I cut a hole big enough for wire to pop through.





And now....
