41mm clip on bars to fit??

Post by dusty1969 »

i have some old 41mm vfr 750 clipons,
the locking lugs (for want of a better techy word) are on the rear side of clip ons and not on the front of clip on that the vtr firestorm originals are??
my questions are ??

has any one fitted these and"TRUSTED" the clipons to be secured by one bolt only??i have noticed you can buy new clip ons with only one locking bolt?

is there a set out there with the same patternn of locking lug to fit a vtr ?? i have noticed even the vfr 800s are the same positioned locking lug/pin whatever you want to call it??

I just used a dremel to remove the two bits behind the mirrors that "drop down". IMHO it looks better that way.

Have you got any pictures of that with the modified fairing?

I might give this a go myself if the standard clip ons become too much on the wrists

been out for a spin with the vfr750 clipons fitted, i have to say i am well impressed,a lot more comfort with riding position and more upright is was so easy to throw the bike around B Roads with less effort sitting upright ,i as seriosly thinking of getting rid of bike because of pains in wrists, no chance now its the best £20 ive ever spent for vfr  clipons?

The thing that puts me off is modifying the fairing, I think I'll leave it unless some cheap spare fairings come up for sale

Hiya guys.

Has anyone tried the difference between the 750 and 800 clip ons?

I have a pair of 800s but debating if to cut the fairing!

Are the 800s higher riding position than the 750s?

I need a more upright position for my back and to take the weight of my wrists/elbows

Cheers all

i forgot to add that the vfr750 clipons i fitted , i did NOT have to cut the fairing,
i adjusted the angle of clutch and brake handle slightly,
put the bike on full lock left and adjusted clipon, same with the right lock so it touches the fuel tank,
i also had to slightly change the angle of the horn button and the starter button

basically with a bit of jiggery poker they can fit and it is quite a comfy riding position ive clocked up a few thousand wrist pain free miles
