Or paint, then the protective plastic wrap in clear...
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

Hammerite is shite these days, takes weeks to go off and I'm not convinced it's as durable as it used to be.. The harmful stuff isn't allowed in it any more thanks to the tree huggers

Tech cote Parcelain hard black is very good, I've used it on my oil cooler lines and many other things. their heat resistant paint is also the nuts, as good as PJ1 I reckon
Get it from this place http://www.bandcexpress.co.uk/shop/main ... paints.htm

Malc, how has the Techcote Porcelain Hard Black coped on the oil lines with the heat from them :?:
I was thinking I would need to use a heat resistant paint for them,

Chris.

Just over 1000 miles and they look like new still. I rubbed down the rough spots on the chrome until it was smooth to the touch keyed the rest of them then cleaned with brake cleaner then applied the techcote with no primer, well impressed with it. I did warm the paint first.

Interesting that, perhaps they don't get as hot as I'm imaging.

Thanks for the detailed info Malc, very helpful

whatever paint you use on the starter motor, i'd recommend many coats of lacquer, Honda saw fit to place it in possibly the worst place they could. I've been using a matt lacquer on freshly cleaned starters...
