and listened to the crap for 10 mins, so I said,
cut the bull s*hit how much
He wanted over 350 quid, so I left
I spent 30 quid on paint and will attempt this myself !!
How hard can it be

items you'll need
Wet and Dry sand paper 400, 800, 1200, 1500 and 2000 grit (depending on what sort of finish you want).
Panel Wipe
Lint free cloths
Plastic primer (high build if you have deep scratches or fill them) (colour suitable for base coat you'll be spraying).
Basecoat
Lacquer
Buffing compound and mops
If your going to attempt yourself then prep it all properly, sand, prime, sand prime, wipe down with panel wipe and lint free cloth, spray colour mist coat first 10 min drying time then heavier coat, leave for 30-60 mins flat down to get rid of any orange peel or runs, repeat process until sufficient layers sprayed, leave 24-48 hours before lacquer applied, same process for lacquer. If you want real deep shine then after 1-2 weeks hit it with the compound and mops. Not before as lacquer wont be hard enough.
Make sure you spray in well vetillated area, away from pets and children, not too cold and not too hot around 15. Don't rush it and it will come out really nice. Think you might need to buy more paint though I would think if you've gone for cans about 3-4 for the base coat, 2 for the primer and lacquer 3-4
