Headlight mod
Headlight mod
I've had a good search but can't find anything. Is there a mod you can do to the switch gear to keep the dipped on when you flick to main beam? I'm running a projector HID setup and when I turn on main beam it cuts power to the HID as it is on the dipped circuit.
Re: Headlight mod
Yes, run twin relays triggered one each from the dip and main beam, and you can connect with a diode in series to fire both when main is on. That way the trigger signal can flow from main to dip and put both on, but when dip is selected it will run dip only.
I have a pair of relays for sale- plus the wiring back through fuses to the battery. I was running a 100/80 watt bulb.
No diode, though, but it can't be hard to source one of those.
£10 posted?
another idea, a latching relay triggered from the passing switch, powering the dip as well, when the main's on?
You'll already know that you can get both on by hitting the pass switch while on dip.
Hit once to latch on, once more to latch off.
There has to be a little circuit to do that somewhere...

It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.
Re: Headlight mod
Don't sound right to me, last HID kit I fitted had a separate power feed, and separate switch wiring for dipped and main beam.
Have you got any wiring diagrams for your kit?

I've b8stard an H7 4300k kit as the one that came with my projector was an 8000k and was wosrse than the standard bulb!
Thanks for the offer Tony, I'm just going to run a diode from the main to dipped cables.

Post up progress, it should work fine and may help other owners.

Will do mate, just trying to find the right diode!
