Vfr 800 clip ons question!

Post by Taz69 »

Hi all, I have chance of a pair of Vfr 800 clip ons from a 98 model, I know about trimming the lobe off the fairing, my questions are:

Do I need to do any work on The brake/clutch lines etc?

Also are the 800 bars the same, better or worse than the 750 ones at ride height etc?

Thanks

iv a set of 800 bars i just fitted to mine. but i already had flat bars on before so im not sure if the lines are standard or not. one thing i did notice is there only seems to be one point to have the 800 bars that doesnt have them either hitting the tank or fairing on full lock. took a bit of fiddling to get them sitting right.

Thanks for the reply chap, I was hoping more people had done the mod and would comment on which is better, also I presume the clip ins can be painted as the ones I have chance of need to be painted!

Thanks

paint away at them just make sure not to get any paint on the internal sides that have the fork tube slide inside. try setting one of them onto the bike and see if the brake lines will reach, there should be a bit of slack in them.
