Cam Chain(?) noise
Re: Cam Chain(?) noise
Ahhh! There's someone in Oz (or NZ?) that also handles Mark Krieger's CCTs - I can't recall their details but try asking Mark directly > http://www.clems-garage.com/CCT/
It may be that your whole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.
VTR Firestorm and other bikes t-shirts

Re: Cam Chain(?) noise
Just checked with Mark and he doesn't have a distributor in Australia any more.

Welcome to the forums. If you want to go another route and If by chance you are on facebook look for a guy named Jay Morrison. He has a yellow storm in his profile photo... He is in Melbourne and can supply krieger ccts.

In which case I didn't think that's your problem. The noise I described due to a weak spring (sticking plunger) could be heard on the over-run, as in changing down and slowing down for a T junction, not on acceleration,paulp3333 wrote:That makes sense Chris.
But it only makes the noise while holding steady revs between 2 and 3 thousand revs. When backing off or accelerating everything is fine.
Chris.
Re: Cam Chain(?) noise
Not ccts, but they should be done asap.
You say you've adjusted the drive chain. The. Adjustment on these is tricky and is best done two handed, get someone if a similar weight to you I.e. not a child, sit in the bike while you adjust the chain on a paddock stand.
If you do it with no-one on its easy to have the chain wrongly adjusted.

It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.
Re: Cam Chain(?) noise
When the chains a bit stretched it tends to slap if your too high gear and low rev
