Handlebar conversion - Which bars?
Hi all, I bought a slide on top yoke http://www.bikermart.co.uk/proddetail.asp?prod=154-136
And me trying to do it as cheap as possible (tight butt)
I bought some renthal bars for £18 but they have too much rise and width!
Everything fits but the left switchgear wiring to headlight is too short with 'em on. I should have spent £30 and got the bars with the yoke but I thought I try save £12 now I gonna have to spend more which will be more than the facking £30
Is there a cheap skate option? Point me in the right direction

There was a thread on here about turning original bars upside down but I haven't found it so don't know the outcome. Would be good to find out the result

Renthal 758 are popular with bar conversions, I think they are a bit wide but you can easily cut 20mm off each end which imo will make them feel much better, test first with everything loosely fitted before cutting though just to make sure there's room before the bend, also measure and drill for the locating lugs rather than bodge it by filing off the plastic pins.

I use the ultra low renthals on mine, this gives a very comfortable but still sporty riding position

I have bought these bars and they fit
I've had to drop the forks because my clutch line was fouling. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/172161850630
With a little tweaking I should be able to get away without cutting the fairing

Road lows on my Aprilia, although in retrospect I'd probably go for the ultra lows like Alistair
I've now gone all European and bought a KTM Superduke GT and Aprilia RSV1000R

Although the Road Ultra Low are only 10mm less in height at measurement (C) than the Street fighter bars, there is a 25mm difference between in measurement (B) between the two, that may not have been helping you on lock regarding the clearance of the fairing.

You may be surprised how much difference these handlebars you just bought will make (or not as the case my be

So it's been a while and I got everything on the bars. Nowt fouling on lock to lock except the brake lever touching the mirror, so I removed the mirrors. I spent hours over a few days trying to bleed the front brake! I tried everything from normal bleeding to reverse bleeding, pressure bleeding, tapping the bleeding thing and I got bleeding pissed off. So I left it there a good week with the brake lever cable tied in a bit and bleeding 'ell that worked 
I've got to trim the ends of the bars off and drill a hole for the switchgear, I've been for a short blast and it felt like riding a tea trolley
I thought me dropping the forks had upset the equilibrium and after half an hour I thought I might be selling it. I popped in to see Kev at the bike shop on the way back and found out me rear tyre leaks on the rim, only had 28! So I went for another blast and the fun is back, handles really well and is probably comfy enough for longer blasts and me butt didn't get hot as it does on me Buell
I'll get some pics up when it's finished but here's one before I attached the brake lines.

Eyup Pon. Please post some pics all angles. I've bought some lsl risers from Ant which clamp to the forks.
I've no bars yet and no idea what fits.
I'm wondering if I can get away with std accelerator cables and also without cutting the fairing.
So I still need bars and longer brake hoses, but don't want to touch the fairing.
my mate who ended up with my old storm converted it by drilling the top yoke.
It already had braided hoses fitted, but he had to sort some longer accelerator cables and also cut the fairing.
I've no bars yet and no idea what fits.

Ay up Redpig, I didn't want to chomp up me fairing either. I just turned the throttle round so the cables come out the back and there's bags of slack that way, one cable does touch the tank on lock but I'm going to put a clear protector on the tank. Biggest issue I had with bars was the frigging lights switchgear cable is short as f^*k.
