sidestand light coming on

Post by roasty_duck »

so annoying problem developed out of nowhere, when riding along my sidestand light will flicker then light up and stay lit up till i put the stand down and back up, itll stay off for a minute or so then come back on.

Any ideas?

Yes, you need a replacement sidestand switch, or at least, it needs stripping and cleaning.
Best done before it strands you by the roadside, but if you carry a metal (not plastic-covered) paperclip you can use that to get you home.
Just short out the connector on the loom side, and it'll run.

But, of course, you can ride away with the sidestand down, so only to be used as a get-you-home fix, or for trackday use only, and take the side stand off completely.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

I have a few off these...some are off Blackbird side stand so the wire is a fair bit longer but the switch is identical...I can send you one on Monday just cover the postage.
