Go for insurance where it is included. I learnt the hard way about not having it when I broke down cost me over £200 to join and get someone out straight away.

I just insured with carole nash, I was getting very basic quotes for £100ish. I ended up with c/n for £180, but that include pretty much everything. and importantly for me comprehensive European breakdown cover....

MCE include basic breakdown cover, although I imagine it will be exactly that 'basic', but at £95 fully comp for the RSV it's not a bad freebie.
I've now gone all European and bought a KTM Superduke GT and Aprilia RSV1000R :D ,
Storm is now gone  .

I can't remember if it's MCE or Bennetts that include breakdown with all their policies. I have Bennetts and mine is £92 with breakdown included. The usual euro, home start, home tow or tow to a garage and 1 night stay if required. It's limited use but fingers crossed I won't need it.

I use TSB platnume for £17 a month it covers breakdown cover for all my vehicles the van, car and bike also holiday insurance and as the wife is diabetic her holiday insurance is £70 plus mobile phones and card all in one. :cool2 I think it works out cheaper and a time saver

I've used Britannia Rescue a couple of times over the last year for the storm. Broken chain and a flat. Excellent both times.

I'm with MCE.I cant comment on their service as I've never had to use it (yet). But £92:00 fuly comp, breakdown and leathers etc. seems good value for money to me,only down side is the £800:00 excess.
SO WHEN DOES THIS OLD ENOUGH TO KNOW BETTER KICK IN

I've gone with the AA
I'm the one thats covered so it doesn't matter what car or bike I'm on. Even if I'm a passenger. They even hav a handy little App to go on your phone so they can find you if you don't know where you are.
I think I'm paying about £120-130 for the privilege.

I'm with RAC, purely because of having 2 bikes and have access to ride a third, and two cars it worked out cheaper than having multiple covers through insurance.
