Hi & welcome,

Just read about your 5000rpm issue & think it could be a carb diaphragm problem. Either not seated well or a hole in the rubber.

I had a similar experience once & that's what it was. Rev'd well in neutral, but wouldn't rev beyond 5000rpm in any gear when on the road.

Hope you get it sorted btw :thumbup:
