Done a stator test set the tester to 200 ohm, 2.0, 2.0 and 1.9 was the results and the ground test passed.
I think the tolerance is 1ohm so it means the stator is buggered?.
Just check with you people more in the know.

Re: Stator test
I'm guessing this is the Blade mate. It does suggest there is Stator damage but best to verify by checking the coils of wire wrapped around the stator itself for burnt out sections, visually check if and how much damage. It may be the electrical connector itself where it plugs into the loom which would save buying a replacement stator or even where the electrical wire makes contact and connects to the stator. Once you can get at the stator you can also test that end which will rule the electrical wire out or not, but the visual check will be the real give away as to whether you need a replacement stator.

I'm no expert on electrics I will admit, but my opinion on your readings all being so close would be it's okay, of course I could be wrong

Re: Stator test
I changed the stator and regulator.
I'll post up a picture of the stator and you can work out how good it is.

Re: Stator test
When my charging system was causing problems with low voltage I finally tracked it down to my alternator and it was pretty obviously damaged from the crispy carbonisation on some of the wiring.

Re: Stator test
Just saw this and the range is 0.1-1.0 ohm anything more and it needs replacing
If it aint broke, get your bloody hands off it!
Re: Stator test
looks like a bit of burning going on at 1 o clock on that one.

And 5.30 was a bit dodgy as well - It was just about putting out 12 volts and couldn'y cope to cope with lights and heated grips in Winter.

Definitely looking like it's seen better days at the points Carl and Wicky mention,

Re: Stator test
As you know on my Fireblade the stator part of the engine was damaged and re welded, which leads me to believe that the stator was damaged and put back in, I also believe the bike was used for track days and spent most of its life on a trickle charger, so it wasn't an issue.
I'll post some pictures today, the above looks a little ' darker ' than mine but my stator looks like its actually falling to pieces.
