feck me if was choppy on the ferry, I was feeling tom Richard the whole time.
the bike was perfect the whole was, not one missed gear.
riding thru the night in Spain, watching the sunrise to the north.

then being greeted by this in Portsmouth

drizzle for the first 30 mins followed by mental traffic through London. makes me wonder why I came back...

cheers chris, riding through the night on deserted motorways, watching the sunrise was beautiful, and I made each fuel stop without any drama, didn't think I was going to make the first one, as the flashing red light was on for the best part of 30 miles. (I did have a sneaky 2ltrs of petrol in my top box just incase lol) when I filled up it took 16.5ltrs. it was the same for the second fuel stop as well. averaging about 80 to 85mph I reckon it would do about 130 miles range, if you dropped the speed to 70mph you get a better figure, plus my poor bike has to carry a lot of un-aerodynamic weight :(
the only drama I had was when I made my second stop, to find my topbox was open....doh....
thankfully nothing had fallen out.
otherwise you might have had a news story about a massive pair of underpants causes mass pile up on Spanish motorway......
I jut checked and I average 31mpg, not great, but not bad considering there was nothing on the road and I resisted the temptation to pin it, I didn't see a police car until I got to bilbao, about 290 miles of police free riding....

You'd have had room for a pair of slightly stained 32 inch waist leather trousers to take back with you

Good to hear the fuel stops worked out okay Marty  A good plan carrying a little spare with you.
Watching the sunrise like that must have been spectacular.

Welcome back to our British unpredictable (so far) summer weather
