horn problem

here's the issue, the 04 bike which is a late model with the headlight that stays on constantly whilst the ignition is on. the bloody horn isn't working, I've checked the fuse next to the battery and swapped it for a new fuse, I've tried 3 different horns, including a brand new acumen horn.
i'm not sure where to go from here, I can't find another late model switch gear to try and swap it out to see if it works, I really don't want to be taking it apart as it's a minefield inside the casing. the terminals look fine with no corrosion.
any idea's of the best course of action?

Have you connected the two wires to the horn correctly ?
They can look as if they are fitted when they haven't slipped on the contacts .

made sure the contacts were on correctly mate, tried them on both connectors, just in case i'd put them on the wrong way round. I think my next option is to buy a fresh can of contact cleaner, loosen the screws on the lhs switch gear and blast the living hell out of the inside, and hope that it does the job...

Test horn first with direct power and earth from battery, if it works connect multimeter or test lamp to horn wires and press horn button. If it's ok you'll get a light or voltage at multimeter, if not it's button or wiring! Switch cleaner is a good call before wiring, good luck

I know the different horns work as I've tried them on another bike. which just leaves the wiring and the button/switch, as I've checked the fuses. never heard of this before

Ride it over here and we can take a look. Is it earthing where you've been spraying things. There could also be a little adjustment screw on the horn that controls the amount of vibrations. This is not done up tight is it, maybe a little play with your horn is order But yeh first things first is there a live and earth. If you haven't got a test light you could make one up out of a bulb and bit of wire. How are the indicators doing now. Just wondering if there is a short on that front left as that would affect the horn, but the fuse should blow. Seems a bit coincidental. I wouldn't go opening up the switchgear, but spray of contact cleaner in there throught the indi switch wouldn't do any harm in case it's a stuck contact.

indi's are fine carl, the one I need to fix has a loose wire inside, the horn is a separate issue. and now the fan isn't working, so I can see myself having to go buy a cheap multimeter to see if I can find the issue. as for spraying with contact cleaner, I will unscrew the casing slightly and blast the feck out of the inside....

I had issues with an indicator switch, rather than take it apart I squirted some lubricant (WD40) either side of the switch, left it a while and then gave it a wiggle and hey presto. Do the same for the horn button. Water can get in there and coat the contacts.

i'm well aware of the indi switch issue mate, i'm hoping that hitting it with some electrical contact cleaner with do the job, better than using wd40, as it cleans better, once working again i'd look to put a little squirt of wd40 to protect it, lets hopes that works, as i'm all out of ideas....

it was stuck, so I hit it with a hammer......doh!!!!

at least the idle screw isn't stuck anymore, it's in pieces and bent teh fook hahaha, still works tho....
