You may be right I just assumed it came with it as a kit looking at the price as it's not listed directly. Quite few spares when bought genuine come in a kit form.

I'm not so sure that happens so much now, although as you say it used too. We need someone to purchase the brush set to confirm one way or the other

I've only found one kit in the states that includes most of the parts needed to refurb the mitsuba sm13 starter motor, but even that doesn't include the main bolt. sounds like you got a decent secondhand motor tho...

there's a place round the corner from me who will do a refurbish on stators and starter motors, your be surprised how cheap it is to have it done.
