Air filter housing screws

Post by j4weeson »

Any man, woman or beast know the torque settings for the 8 mounting screws that hold the air filter housing onto the carbs? checked the manual and it just says do not over tighten or it will strip the carbs

thanks

Tight enough and with some threadlock on em as you don't want them going in the carb!
It may be that your whole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.

Yeh don't screw them up. I mean don't f..ck you carbs. I wouldn't go by torque setting as the screws will have most likely stretched a bit over the years and torque settings don't account for this unless you use a torque wrench that can account for it. Just do them by feel and as said a little threadlock.
