Do I already have manual cct?

Post by glass man »

Hello, would anyone be able to tell me if there is a way of telling if I already have manual cct's without stripping the head off? I bought my firestorm a couple of months ago and just wanted to make sure this has been done as the bike came with no history. Thanks

Yes we can the guys on here are that good

Take a picture of the area behind and to the right of the rear brake master cylinder pipe so you can see the back of the rear cylinder, and we can tell you from there. The CCT sits above the right hand rearset and pokes out the back of the rear cylinder roughly level with the mount bolt. There is another on the front but its harder to get to and I cant see them being different.
If it aint broke, get your bloody hands off it!

Yep we can tell from just looking especially if you take a pic of the rear suspension from right hand side of the bike  We are amazing :D

Some of us have x-ray specs sourced from an American comic left over from our childhood.
Mine wore out from looking at neighbours's daughters to see if they were wearing underwear, unfortunately.

Also I found that the saliva on the lens from the very affectionate Space Monkeys* deteriorated from their efficacy.

Nonetheless, in case we're wrong, we have the power to rebuild him.
For less than six million dollars.

* (I no longer have Space Monkeys after the Ant Farm incident)
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

You have stock auto CCTs (unless they are bazza's converted auto-to-manual)

Time to replace em! > Kreiger, APE, Bazza and Ade Whitmarsh's CCT's > http://www.vtr1000.org/phpBB3/viewtopic ... 31&t=22720

It may be that your whole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.

Standard shock looks good sprayed black. I only done the spring and I like what you have done with the clutch cover and rear brake master.

Most of the mods were done by the previous owner to be fair. The only other problem I have is the pilot screws have been wound in so tightly that the brass crisscross has been sheared off. I've tried all sorts but they're jammed in hard! I imagine they were wound in so hard because of the cans and air filter mods but it seems to be running pretty good.

That's not good as they have possibly damaged the seats too now. Might be time for another set of carbs.

You have the later model Black callipers on there too. What's going on at the top of the fairing where it reaches a point by the mirror...oh never mind. It's the reflection of the mirror. Good paintwork you have there, nicely polished, and I do mean polish, not wax.

Here's my heap of shite without the fairings on. Believe me it looks better in the picture than for real
