Machining rims.
Machining rims.
Harley riders always do crazy $h!te to their rims. I was thinking if I used a wheel balancer and checked every so often if I could take my rim or even better a cheapo 2016 cbr 1000rr rim and cut all the casting numbers bumps and as they do in an engine stress relieve it then cut material away from less structural areas of the hoop. around 2 lbs worth. cheapo rims say they weigh 6.1kg front or 13 ish lbs in the packing box. so 11 lbs bare I dont know what a disc weighs but I assume with a rr disc ill be much lighter than stock at 300usd. vs 700 for a 8lb rim. any weight input on a wheel minus disc would be nice. Id like to cheap skate on to a light front and spend the dough on a used bst for my rear when I can. or just do the same to a rear rr rim.

It may be that your whole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.

On the photo do you think he knows its gone yet or is he speakin to god?
Also on the smart guy in the magazine article if he cut an a bit smaller in the frame hed be fine the swiss cheese idea got a buddy of mine killed auto racing. I just hope it collapses at low speed. My buddy got killed over 8 holes in the roll cage the size of a drillbit. I know where the limit is mostly but spun cast spinning at a vagillion rpm is different. Never worked with it. You can indeed shave the casting flash and bumpies out without a problem the danger is cutting into the hoop. I do indeed want to mill the hoop. Harley rims cant be so darn good that onley they get to have fun. as I said aftermarket 1000rr rim. I know there is at least 8 oz if junk that can be sanded away . https://m.aliexpress.com/item/327018471 ... y#autostay.
The rim is there. no hiles to cut but sure looks like a round with the diegrinder would not hurt it. Now if anyone has some real rim info it would be nice. Mistkrs bike is expebsive his seat alone cost more than a rr rim and his rims were aquired over some time. I like that bike minus the wrap and heli bars. Just dont like high bars I guess.
