So going through the service and work history on the bike I found a receipt for this.
Top end rebuild incl: valves head gasket and can chain tensioner.
Now this was in 2010 and cost whoever had the bike £465.
My question re the CCT, what would they normally have done?
Change the CCT for a better than stock or just replace like for like?
The reason I ask is I am thinking of sorting a manual CCT and I just wanted an idea on what they might have done, from someone with experience in this.
Thanks in advance.

Re: Advice or just an insight
If it was done through a Honda dealership it's very likely they put a standard auto cct back in. Have a look at the CCT's or put a photo on here and someone will ID what you have.
There are no good, or better, autos, they may have a different coloured spot of paint on them but they are still liable to go pop, particularly if the bike is stood up for longish periods of time.
Go for either the stopper mod, which looks just like stock autos or manuals, which have a bolt going through the centre of the cct. Some are adapted autos and some are purpose built, either will do the job perfectly.
Just promise me one thing, don't just trust your luck! That £465 bill shows what a bad idea that is.

When I get chance I will get the manual fitted just not too confident in my own ability to do it

Re: Advice or just an insight
Just follow the guide in the workshop knowledgebase & give yourself a day to to it slowly but surely - put your location in case there's somebody near to you to who could watch over your shoulder. Fitting MCCTs is a lot easier and less expensive than fixing the results of a failed auto tensioner, as you've seen from the earlier bill.

Ok just ordered the fittings for my abba stand.
I am in Nottingham and any advice on where to get the manual CCT and anything else will be appreciated.

I changed mine following the excellent step by step guide on this site and i have next to no knowledge of mechanicals. When you have it done turn the engine over manually to see if everthing turns ok before you press the starter.

SO WHEN DOES THIS OLD ENOUGH TO KNOW BETTER KICK IN
