Anyone play the harmonica?

in my yoof I used to trail round the pubs following a local blues band who got me into this sort of stuff...



I think this bloke was sort of acknowledged as the don of the harmonica

I have heard some brilliant anecdotes about Larry Adler being one of the most sweary, non pc fellas you could meet ??

My granda played the mouth harp
Then after a few drinks he used the cork from a bottle tapping it off his teeth
That was his party piece and was always asked to do it as the night went on

My Grandad used to take his dentures out & gurn... It was his party piece .We NEVER asked him to do it...

I think he is that Don. Talking of yoof I got hooked listening to Dr Feelgood - saw them a couple of times in London pubs eons ago.

If this works, I might change my forum name to Blackstorm Bluesman

I've been looking into playing the Harmonica, been learning to play the guitar for about 8 years now and taking exams, also learning to play the Jaw harp, which is quite fun.

How far have you got?? I did classical guitar for a few years, years back. Might dust that down....... Also never heard of a jaw harp - interesting

well not that far TBF, I have gotten onto level three of my RGT exams, so getting there, Jaw harp is pretty interesting and not hard to learn, but with anything you got to hammer away at it to get good.
