Whoever it was said that there's loads of good stuff over in Japan wasn't kidding. Here's your engine Fabiostar, if you can get over there that is.

Nice find.... I see the 4 exhaust cam question got answered, yes it is a way to get a little extra intake lift without sourcing aftermarket cams.
The frame brace question was never answered as far as I could tell. Your frame is correct without it as that brace was only on the Mori bikes as they were braced a little different than the UK bikes.

Re: a bit of spondoness.
you see iv been stuck to the pooter for days. iv seen moris without the ears. iv seen them with ears. but mine has the ears plus the cast pivot point is fully braced? so is there a difference between a spondon and a mori frame or was it mix and match??8541Hawk wrote:Nice find.... Re: a bit of spondoness.
I have notes somewhere but right now I am going from memory...and I'm getting old so.....lol
Basically each tuning house braced their own frames, so there are slight differences between them. I have never hear one way was better than another, so it really doesn't matter which version you have found.
Also, if memory serves, the easy way to tell them apart is the Mori's have the small front brace and the UK bikes have an "X" brace inside the frame.
I'll see if I can find any documentation but it is rolling up on 20 yrs ago and I'm not sure which comp it might be on.

Re: a bit of spondoness.
If it helps you can see the extra bracing on this pic while I was mocking my build and checking wheel alignment etc...

Why ask... sometime you just go to do it and find out?
Re: a bit of spondoness.
ooh thats nice. was emailing Roger and he threw a lot of light on things aswell. mine appears to be one of the early bikes with the bracing thats present on mine including the ears and the rear shock it points to one of the bikes Savoury and Grant was involved with.
so back to plan A. get it running so i can get an idea whats gona need sorting so i nicked the pipes of the big girl to see how it looked with some pipe work
