2017 track days
Might be a bit early to kick this off but after being so late to get started last year I'm chomping at the bit.
Booked
27th April - Anglesey . Rea Racing are putting this on.
19th May - Croft
Others for consideration:
Oulton, again. Poss 22nd March. Also looking at a two day track day in June.
Donington. Poss early April
Silverstone
Mallory. Quite a few Friday track days which work well for visiting relatives nearby.
I might, just might be up for a late season Europe trip.

Re: 2017 track days
mallory, donno
...... i will also be doing 2 1/2 day stint at cadwell july / august (Fri -Thur)...its a private event but there are usually spaces left that are opened up to the general masses a couple off weeks before the event. If any one is interested i will post a link when the booking opens. They run the standard format but tend to run a bit quicker than you regular event cos it is organised and attended with a lot of ex racers... i.e. there are people doing sub 2 min in the slow group

Quick question for you regular track hounds. How often do you change the fluids and do you drain the tank and carbs over winter?

Re: 2017 track days
I've asked around about oil changes and the consensus seems to be that oil should be changed every other track day and filter should be changed every other oil change.

Cheers for that. I had a similar response from a mate who rides a lot of track daysMiztaziggy wrote:I've asked around about oil changes and the consensus seems to be that oil should be changed every other track day and filter should be changed every other oil change.
I think I'm going to replace all mine before my first track day then something like oil after three and other fluids annually. For my half a dozen track days a year that should be more than enough.Oil every 3rd, front brake mid year, coolant (water) mid year, rear brake yearly.
Re: 2017 track days
Just booking a track day for the week before Easter.
It might be the slowest one I've ever done. Because:
It's on railway tracks, for a steam engine "driving experience" being on the footplate and fiddling with controls, shoving a shovel of coal into the boiler- lovely.
I might even polish a bit of brasswork, if I get carried away.
I highly recommend this reaching 60 thing, you get lots of lovely presents. Earlier that week I have my first flying lesson.
But back to the subject in hand, now that I have the slipper clutch for the SP2, I will be booking a day or an evening at Brands, on the short circuit. Lots of backing it in opportunities at Druids!
Mind you, I haven't fitted it yet; it's too cold to head up to the garage and secondly it's still sitting on the settee next to me so I can keep getting it out and admiring it.
Once fitted I won't be able to see it, so now's the time to admire.
And no, I'm not converting the cover to have a window, or double glazing, or roof insulation and a stippled underseal finish!

It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

Sounds great that Tony. And there's no chance of going off line.
Brands is a bit of a trek for me but a track I fancy riding eventually. I'm trying to shortlist a few days up to June/July. I'll update my original post sometime next week.

Does that actually work or you just grooming me with advice in return for pictures of me in the bath? Haha

It's when he asks you to wear a sheepskin jacket over the leathers you need to worry!

Re: 2017 track days
What track day apps do folks use? Any Android ones worth bothering with?
Still some spaces available on the Rea Racing day at Anglesey next week. 25min sessions and small group sizes.
