from japan, from the makers of many nice parts, but what the hell are they, the best I can guess, is something that fits behind the main fairings and deflects airflow to the rads, iirc they had something similar for sp's.
does anyone on here know???

You are correct sir....

Same idea as the German scoops that they also made for the 1000f as well as the SP bikes.
You could still get them a few years back but bring your wallet.....

Though I have heard they can actually make our bike run too cold

Sure mikstar had them fitted to his a few years ago !
Good for the hotter climate not so good for the colder places as they direct more clean air to the rads stopping to reaching nrt

Wondering how, if any improvement those parts wold make. IIRC people that have had overheating issues were in heavy traffic (hot climate), while none at speed. Just thinking.

IIRC Mik had the durbahn air scoops and I seem to recall something along the lines of having to reverse the direction of the fan so is blows the other way.

Yes Mik had the durbahn air scoops and no there is no need to reverse anything as the air already flowing from inside the fairing out through the rads.

The issue he had and the reason why he sold them is that even with all the mods he has done the bike ran too cold with them.

You really shouldn't have and over heating issue with a stock engine. I have run mine in over 100F, in traffic, with no issues

According to the advert, it's FRP which as I pointed out in my first post is AFAIK "Fibreglass Reinforced Plastic"

Probably not enough to make the cost worth it. I guess if ones converter unit is broken then it's a good alternative. If one is after power then every little bit helps but as you know it comes at a cost.
