Does anyone made a swap of rear brake master cylinder?

contact jonesy, he's recently talked me into swapping my rear mc for a rather lovely mc from a Honda crf250/450. straight swap with an all in one mc/reservoir

That's interesting. I want to do something with the rear master on mine, trying to match the blade caliper to a master, which will fit on the Harris Rearsets, and give a good level of pressure.

Not sure the CRF unit is a good replacement... IIRC, it uses a small 9mm (or 10mm?) piston, not sure if moves enough fluid to activate the caliper piston. I did research about finding one with an integrated cylinder (as CRF unit) and eventually settled on one from a KX-F/RMZ as it uses a 12.7mm piston (OEM is 14mm).
You can also keep the same MC and ditch the reservoir (to clean things up) by using an HRC or equivalent reservoir kit (essentially a clear chemical-resistant tube).

caliper from which Blade? Most up until very recently were the same as the VTR unit. The newer ones, however, are lighter and use a smaller piston (IIRC 34mm vs 38mm on VTR et al). You can tell them apart visually quickly by looking at the angle between the bleeder port and the intake port - on the VTR unit the spread is 90 degrees whereas it's about 60 degrees on the newer (more compact) unit.Kev L wrote:That's interesting. It's an early one, changed to fit with the blade brace on the swingarm of mine. The rear brakes there, just not that strong.
