O rings

Post by BrianC »

As ive been working on the front head of my vtr i have removed the water elbow or joint fron the back of the head expecting to see a gasket there, but there just seems to be a black deposit. On checking the fiche diagrams it lists o rings???? Between the joint and the head. Is this usual and do i have to use the ones from mr H??? It looks like there is a small weep from thos pne and the one on the rear head.

I replace both Orings last week with Honda OEM.
After 20 years they were completely burned and I need a flame torch to having them came off

Halfords do a box set of dozens of sizes, you'll never have to buy one again. Probably not much more than Honda's original ones!
Or even cheaper:

It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

I replaced mine with non gen ones from Ebay. I checked the O ring set we have at work but the correct size was a little on the thin size for my liking. I looked up the part on one of the online OEM suppliers (not David Silver) and it gace the size and sectional dia. I just put that into ebay search and ordered a set of 5. still cheaper that one OEM O ring.
