Fuel tap

Post by longandlow »

I am in the process of fitting a standard fuel tank back onto my sprint bike. I have the tank and fuel tap, my question is:- To which union does the vacuum pipe fit? Am i right that the union on the bottom of the tap is a vent for the diaphram? and the vacuum is the union on the side?

Yup - to the side and back of the fuel tap

Fuel lines all sorted and new tank ready to fit, next question. Where does the vacuum take off come from for the tap? I have looked all over but can't for the life of me find a vacuum union. Checking through my spare carb sets I found one set with a T piece fitted in the line on the front carb, might that be for the tap?

The vacuum hose attaches to a take off plug on the rear cylinder by the carb manifold.

This is the secondary front one used for balancing the carbs - look for it on the rear cylinder
